Disconnect to reconnect

Preview

I was thinking about what I wanted to write for an article today, and then I realized that kept me distracted, thinking.

So instead, I went through my journal for inspiration and went back to where I was intuitively drawn to remember things that keep me present and stable.

You're gonna wanna give up when you're being prepared.

The life we live is adjacent to our true path, which we seek through likes, comments, views, and selfies.

YOUR STABILITY IS ALWAYS WITHIN YOU

Sometimes the ones we need the most are not here in the physical anymore, and I think that’s why most people may struggle to stay aligned with essential things, because, let’s just be real, we get so bored that the grief is just so unbearable, we push it away or drown it out. For the first time in 10 years, I was able to disconnect from the platform without feeling drained.

I walked away from making 100,000 a year. I’ve walked away from making 20,000 a year. It’s not that you’re not worth the money. The goal is not to be famous. The goal is to align with what creates purpose. Everything in my soul is saying it’s time to choose.

Can I choose love and choose grace?

What is love?

Is it the survival or is it true unconditional surrender?

We all have ideas of love, and most spend hours like I did breaking down into pieces for everyone else.

Having a son was the best reset for my life and pushed me away from the label and brand that broke me.

I am Elise

I am able to choose.

I’ll spare the details of being bullied, but I will say this: someone who is vulnerable to discuss their story does not deserve to be targeted.

Yet here we are, we have moved so far away from humanity, it's hard to recognize what the truth is. I look at the world and a state of being, not just self.

An ode I write to those who still continue to believe, hope, and find connection.

I see you, I have great respect for you, inspired me more than you know, and that’s just it, we’re not supposed to control each other.

We’re not supposed to give each other ultimatums; we’re supposed to allow, and in that allowance, admission comes, no communication is communication, non-action is action.

You have to learn to read between what someone says to you and their behavior. Remember where our attention goes, our energy flows.

Still, I realize that some things are just beyond your control, no matter how hard you try, so shift your primary focus to embodying peace.

Likewise, if you want peace, be peace; if you want love, be love embodiment, act, speak, feel, and experience.

Its been imperative, it’s been important and I must notate that when disconnecting to reconnecting isn’t about walking away, or sacrificing for other people’s entertainment. It’s aligning with the truth deeper than yourself, deeper than what we call trends or labels. It’s transcending, and that makes people upset, and you might even get upset with yourself.

The parts of love are not made; they are grown, nurtured, and then loved. Be done with bread crumbs. That's why, through giving the mind a process, not just meditating and journaling.

It’s the tedious process of unpacking. Everything you suppressed and learning how to not let it control your current. “Be like water”-Bruce Lee.

Become the reason you smile, laugh, and enjoy life because you're stopping outside influences from deciding your cortisol levels.

This week, reality hit when it was back to essays, discussions, and finishing things I started.

Are there things that you’re putting off that you have yet to start or finish?

The classes I’m currently taking are extremely supportive as they have helped me understand why we struggle with things like PTSD. When we invest in things that can improve our overall cognitive function, and when we find things we are invested in or passionate about, it encourages us to take initiative and not be afraid.

Disconnect to reconnect allows us to slowly reintroduce things, people, habits, places, and the list goes on.

Be ok with slowing down.

There will be a lot of resistance in the beginning, but over time, daily practice discipline, all help create the foundation you need, which already exists within you. It's a remembrance you just need to reconnect to it.

The first step in being present is eliminating or reducing distractions.

How does this make me feel?

Do I have to empty to pour?

Are they keeping score?

All valid questions.

This memoir offers hope for anyone learning to trust themselves and create a life beyond trauma.

Poems for the Women Wild at Heart

This three-book poetry collection was written for the women who have survived, softened, broken, rebuilt, and continue choosing themselves every day. Each collection captures different seasons of healing through honest, empowering, and soul-stirring poetry.

Misunderstood

For the woman who has spent her life feeling unseen or unheard. These poems remind you that your sensitivity is a strength and your voice deserves to be heard.

Fragmented
