Transcending Trauma through pursuing an education built on purpose

Transcending Trauma through pursuing an education built on purpose

When it came down to deciding exactly what I wanted to pursue as a career, and the kind of education I wanted that would ultimately support my purpose. I also knew it was important for me to build my degree through a variety of ways. My purpose was created by knowing we are more than just our experiences, good or bad. Knowing that I had already begun to build and establish a career centered on helping women transcend trauma and embrace their spirituality. It was important for me to align with an institution like Walden and pursue a degree that reflected what I was going to do to help others with “the mind, body, and spirit. A degree in Psychology, combined with my holistic certifications, has given me the flexibility of traditional education while still honoring my spiritual side. Finding purpose in the pursuit of education, although it seems challenging, has allowed me to resist leaving behind my skills as a coach, and my bachelor's degree has helped me understand the mind and human behavior, leading to opportunities to enhance my leadership skills. By continuing with my ideas and goals towards a PhD, I look forward to applying the skills I learn to build a holistic healing center. Not only does pursuing an education help enhance my skills, but it also gives me the confidence to collaborate and connect more deeply with others through discussions, assignments, and peer support. When it comes to my personal belief and philosophy, I believe we are born free. Some things happen to us, whether within or outside our control, that can shape our personality or behavior, as well as our relationships with others. Depending on our experiences, we may lean more into our desires, which can lead to distractions. Even if it involves anything to do with substances, this can lead to a decrease and overall wellness as no one who has overcome, great trials and tribulations, holistic and spiritual approaches, have helped me tremendously as well as dialectical behavior, therapy techniques, and tools specifically otherwise my model is a model that I have incorporated into not only my personal life, but also into my education and career because my purpose and career aligns with a multitude of things connected to the mind-body and spirit, one of the things that. Tuakli mentioned in his video that we needed to find something so specific that we can execute on it.

i’m not sure that I agree with his approach on this meaning that you have to just focus on one specific idea when philosophy is the love and pursuit of wisdom itself, which can take on many different pursuits so I can understand why he would encourage us to sharpen our focus, which I believe is true, but also to never lose sight of your imagination and continue to explore things that can challenge us, but also bring us great joy. to anyone looking to pursue a college degree, and education, I would encourage them to first understand what it is that their intentions are with obtaining the education and to really evaluate what it is that their life is centered around as sometimes we can become influenced or even peer pressured based on things like economy or parental pressure so it’s important to define your virtues and values early on so that way you don’t waste time energy and money that’s why sometimes pursuing certificates and accreditations that can be used later on for credits is helpful as I did this with my career and was able to take the certifications. I did outside of traditional college and converted them into educational credits towards my psychology degree, so be flexible, be open, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. I am a testament to this as I dropped out of high school when I was 16, got a GED when I was 22, and went on to build a career and continue to build an education that will align deeply with not only my pursuit towards my purpose, but also the greatest passion of all to continue to be an advocate to help women transcend trauma to embrace their spirituality.  I am a testament to what it means to go from a victim to an advocate.
